The tale of the Double Devil FReep
My daughter and I arrived just after 4:30 PM just in case her heinous tried to pull her 'get there early and miss the protest' stunt.
We drove past the Unity Temple first to get some kind of idea of the lay of the land. There was a line in front of the Unity Temple waiting to get in for their three seconds of glory with Shrillery. I would estimate there were between 300 and 400 people in line when we got there.
We parked about two blocks away. We were already in the majority of our outfits, the only things missing were the caps with horns and the masks. My daughter in black tights, a red satin mini, with a red satin top, and tennis shoes and myself in red satin pantaloons, red satin top, and python skin cowboy boots (what else would a devil wear except snakeskin), both with full head cover caps with horns and red domino masks.
As we got out of the car there was no one around. We quickly donned the rest of our outfits and started walking toward the Unity Temple.
We had three double sided signs with us.
'I SOLD MY SOUL TO HILLARY' and on the other side 'BILL MARRIED MY SISTER'.
'HILLARY, COME HOME' and on the other side 'GO BACK TO NEW YORK'
'MOM?' And on the other side 'WE NEED YOU'
We used the 'HILLARY COME HOME' in conjunction with 'MOM?' and 'WE NEED YOU'. The 'GO BACK TO NEW YORK', 'I SOLD MY SOUL TO HILLARY', and 'BILL MARRIED MY SISTER' were used as stand alone signs along with the 'HILLARY, COME HOME'.
I checked in with the police, advised them where we would like to set up, right across the street from the door to the Unity Temple next to Ruth Chris Steakhouse, and we proceeded to go start protesting.
We received the usual welcome from the Hillaryites. One finger salutes, invitations to come get our butts kicked, gagging motions with the finger in the mouth, etc, etc.
Our devil costumes got people driving by looking at us and when they read our signs it was normally either noncommittal or in our favor. The only exceptions that I could see were people arriving for, or leaving from, the signing.
A little after 5:00 PM the police arrived in force and we figured that Hitlery must be coming soon.
About ten minutes later the USSS came by to check us out. They didn't stop but as they walked by they were both wearing ear to ear grins. They must have enjoyed our signs from the look on their faces as they walked back by us.
We were interviewed by one of the television stations, filmed by two others, and interviewed by the Pitch, a weekly magazine, and the Kansas City Star.
In all accounts I put forth that we were there to protest Hillary in particular and nothing else in general. I also opined that the book signing tour, IMO, could be a stealth presidential campaign.
When asked what in particular I didn't like about Hillary I replied that I didn't believe she should be in politics at all, much less a senator, and even less a senator from NEW YORK! I said that IF she was truthful and was going to run for the senate, she should have run for a senate seat from Arkansas. That, IMO, the only reason she and Bill moved to New York was because there was a senate seat there coming open. I also put forth the opinion that I thought her political views were not shared by the majority of Americans.
After her heinous arrived the line was brought into the Temple sanctuary fairly quickly.
We worked the traffic driving by and the people walking by on the sidewalk and, to tell the truth, I was surprised at the amount of positive reaction we got. I guess the people I am around on a day to day basis are either noncommittal or liberal.
We enjoyed answering questions from people walking by, "What's going on?", answering, "Hillary Clinton is across the street signing her books at the Unity Temple. That's why we're here." and even had some people stop in their cars for a couple of seconds either to ask questions or thank us for being there.
I was disappointed in the turnout, though.
My daughter and I were the only people there protesting Hillary. We saw no other Freepers.
One man slowed down as he drove by and shouted, "FReepers?" I replied in the affirmative and got a thumbs up in return.
Toward the end of our FReep, a little after 7:00 PM, some liberal woman, I use the term loosely, decide to try to make us uncomfortable. She went to the corner on the same side of the street as us and started yelling, "The Klan is back. They're just not wearing sheets, they're wearing devil costumes.", "The KKK is back. Now they're wearing devil costumes."
I finally replied, "Say what you will, the only reason we're here is Hillary."
About ten minutes before we left a scruffy looking younger felloow showed up with a cardboard boxtop, hand inked sign reading, "Thank you Bill and Hil for 8 years of peace and prosperity". Before we left I approached him and asked him if I could shake his hand for standing up for what he believed in. We shook hands and parted, at least, not enemies.
Eventually people started leaving the signing. We got quite a number of thumbs down, one finger salutes, and tongues sticking out from those leaving but were still getting a number of positive reactions from other people.
We finally packed it in and left about 7:20 PM and went home.
As we were leaving the young scruffy Clinton lover turned and said, "The devil outfits were a nice touch."
Even though there were only two of us I feel it was a successful FReep and only wish that more FReepers could have been there.
Sorry about no pictures but I don't have a digital camera, only a 35 mm. Something I'm going to have to remedy.
You can now have your film developed digitally, along with the hardcopy pics.
Thanks for freeping her heinous today! Great job and excellent report.

Great! Congratulations.
I know but I can't get a picture on here tonight.
Thanks for a Fantastic FREEP of Hitlery!
Thanks, but brave has nothing to do with it.
Necessity. I don't want to see that woman anywhere near the White House ever again.
It takes courage for just the two of you standing alone. I appreciate that you were willing to do that.
